Welcome to the new homepage of Institut Futur

• Institut Futur is the name of the Center for Educational Future Science at the Freie Universität Berlin. The institute’s exploratory focus consists of the triade: future – knowledge (transfer) – uncertainty. Thereby, the phenomenon future is being analyzed both from an objective and a subjective perspective.
   
• Our research activities include the development of future scenarios (particularly with regard to the educational system), education for sustainable development, analysis of the effects of a knowledge-based society (e.g. on educational policy and economics), exploring the transfer of knowledge and innovations as well as subject-oriented research on future and uncertainty.
   
• In addition, Institut Futur puts scientific results into practice: for example, we will accomplish a project concerning education for sustainable development in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
