Das Millenniumsprojekt bietet ein inter-nationales Forum für Frühwarnung und Analyse weit-reichender globaler Themen, Chancen und Strategien.

Beschreibung:
Innerhalb der OECD ist das "International Futures Programme" angesiedelt. Es wurde 1990 gegründet und besteht aus vier Elementen:
OECD Forums for the Future,
OECD Futures Projects,
OECD Future Studies Information Base und OECD International FuturesNetwork.

Aufgabe der Institution ist insbesondere die politische Beratung. Das Programm enthält eine Reihe besonderer Zielsetzungen: verbesserte Überwachung des langfristigen wirtschaftlichen und sozialen Horizonts sowie frühzeitiges Hinweisen auf neu entstehende nationale und internationale Probleme; genauere Benennung großer Entwicklungen und möglicher Brüche in Trends; stärkere analytische Einbeziehung wichtiger langfristiger Themen.

  "The IPTS "Futures Project" examines emerging cross-impacts between technological, social, political and economic/ industrial trajectories that have important policy implications. In particular it looks at technology, competitiveness and employment policy. WFS - World Future Society

Die World Future Society beherbergt weltweit einen Zusammenschluss von Akteuren, die sich für die Zukunft interessieren. Das Perspektive wird sowohl von technischen als auch von sozialen Entwicklungen abgesteckt. Die Organisation wurde 1966 gegründet und hat ihren Sitz in Washington, D.C., U.S.A.

WFSF - World Futures Studies Federation

Die WFSF versteht sich als Forum, in dem Ideen, Visionen, lanzeitliche Entwicklungen u.ä. verortet werden. Die Föderation fördert Thematiken im Bereich der Zukunftsforschung genauso wie innovative interdisziplinäre Analysen.
Präsident der 1967 gegründeten Vereinigung ist Richard Slaughter. In Abgrenzung zu der WFS ist das WFSF stärker der Wissenschaft verhaftet als es kommerziell ist.
